Terms of Use

A simple framework
for using Unordinary Life.

These Terms explain the rules that apply when you use Unordinary Life, create an account, save or publish stories, report content, or otherwise interact with the service.

Effective date: 3 September 2026

In plain language

Tell your story honestly, respect other people's privacy, do not use anonymity as permission to harm others, and do not use Unordinary Life for spam, threats, harassment, scams, pornography, fetish content, or unlawful activity.

01 · About the service

Unordinary Life is an independently operated storytelling platform.

The service is available at www.theunordinarylife.com.

Unordinary Life does not currently identify a separate incorporated company as the operator. If the operating structure changes, these Terms may be updated accordingly.

02 · Accepting these Terms

By using the service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms or the Community Guidelines, you should not use the service.

03 · Your account

You are responsible for access to your account.

Account access currently uses email-based one-time codes. You are responsible for maintaining control of the email account you use to sign in.

Your private sign-in identity is separate from the public identity you choose for any particular story.

04 · Guest use

You may begin writing without an account.

Guest drafts may be stored only in your browser on that device. You are responsible for transferring a guest draft to an account if you want cross-device access.

05 · Your content

You are responsible for what you write and publish.

You should only submit or publish content you have the right to share.

Do not publish private personal information, confidential information, copyrighted material you are not entitled to use, or content that unlawfully infringes another person's rights.

06 · Ownership of your stories

You retain the rights you hold in your content.

Unordinary Life does not claim ownership of the copyright in stories merely because they are submitted to the platform.

By publishing content, you give Unordinary Life a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, format, display, transmit, and make that content available as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, and present the service.

This permission continues while the content remains stored or published and may continue for limited technical purposes such as backups, moderation records, or legal compliance where reasonably necessary.

07 · Public identity

You choose how your author identity appears publicly.

A story may be published as Anonymous, under a pseudonym, or under a real name you choose to display.

Choosing Anonymous does not remove your responsibility for the content and does not guarantee that details within the story cannot identify you.

08 · Published content

Anything you publish should be treated as public.

Published stories may be read by anyone with access to the service and may be quoted, discussed, copied, screenshotted, or shared by other people.

Unordinary Life cannot guarantee that copies made by third parties will disappear if you later unpublish or delete a story.

09 · Editing and unpublishing

Authors can manage eligible stories.

Published-story edits may remain private until you explicitly publish the revised version.

Eligible stories may be unpublished or deleted using the features provided through your account.

Some actions may be restricted when a story is subject to moderation, preservation requirements, or another legitimate platform process.

10 · Community Guidelines

The Community Guidelines are part of these Terms.

Your use of the service must comply with the Community Guidelines available on Unordinary Life.

The Guidelines explain how we approach issues such as harassment, hate, personal information, sexual or fetish content, threats, spam, scams, and misuse of the platform.

11 · Prohibited misuse

Do not use Unordinary Life to harm people or the service.

You may not use the service to:

  • • harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate another person;
  • • expose private personal information without justification;
  • • impersonate someone deceptively;
  • • operate scams, fraud, spam, or deceptive promotion;
  • • distribute malware or attempt unauthorized access;
  • • interfere with the security or operation of the platform;
  • • use the service primarily for pornography or fetish content;
  • • solicit unlawful activity or serious harm;
  • • violate applicable law or another person's legal rights.

12 · Sensitive subject matter

Difficult stories are not automatically prohibited.

Genuine life stories may involve sexuality, abuse, violence, trauma, grief, addiction, medical experiences, relationships, family conflict, crime, or other difficult subjects.

Context matters. Sensitive subject matter is different from content whose main purpose is exploitation, sexual gratification, harassment, intimidation, or instruction for serious wrongdoing.

13 · Reporting

Users may report published content.

Reports are intended to help identify potential violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

Submitting a report does not guarantee that a story will be removed or that any particular moderation action will be taken.

14 · Moderation

We may review and moderate content.

Depending on the circumstances, Unordinary Life may dismiss a report, restrict visibility, place a story on moderation hold, remove content, restrict account functionality, preserve relevant records, or take another reasonable action.

Moderation decisions may consider context, safety, privacy, platform integrity, repeated misuse, legal requirements, and the purpose of the service.

15 · Moderation hold

Stories may temporarily lose public visibility.

A story placed on moderation hold may remain associated with the author's account while being unavailable to the public.

Certain author actions may be temporarily disabled while the moderation process is active.

16 · No guarantee of truth

User stories are not necessarily independently verified.

Unordinary Life provides a platform for personal storytelling. We do not guarantee that every statement made by every author is complete, accurate, independently verified, or objectively true.

Readers should understand stories as user-generated accounts unless clearly stated otherwise.

17 · No professional advice

Personal stories are not professional advice.

Stories may discuss medical, psychological, legal, financial, relationship, career, or other personal experiences.

Such content should not be relied upon as professional advice or as a substitute for qualified assistance appropriate to your circumstances.

18 · Third-party services

Parts of the service rely on third-party providers.

Unordinary Life currently relies on services such as Supabase, Vercel, and Resend for infrastructure, authentication, hosting, databases, and email delivery.

Their services may be governed by their own terms and policies.

19 · Availability

We do not promise uninterrupted access.

The service may experience downtime, bugs, delays, data synchronization issues, email-delivery problems, security incidents, or other interruptions.

Features may also be changed, added, suspended, or removed as the platform develops.

20 · Backups and loss

Do not treat the platform as your only permanent archive.

Although Unordinary Life is designed to save stories and revisions, no online platform can guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, deleted, or become unavailable.

If a story is personally important, consider retaining your own copy outside the service.

21 · Limitation of responsibility

The service is provided on an evolving basis.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Unordinary Life does not guarantee that the service will always be available, secure, error-free, suitable for a particular purpose, or free from harmful or inaccurate user-generated content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

22 · Legal compliance

We may act where required by law or safety concerns.

Unordinary Life may preserve, restrict, disclose, or remove information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, lawful legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or secure the service.

23 · Suspension or termination

Serious or repeated misuse may lead to restrictions.

We may restrict or terminate access to some or all of the service where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated violations, security concerns, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, or risks to the platform or its users.

24 · Changes to these Terms

These Terms may evolve with the platform.

We may update these Terms as features, operating arrangements, laws, risks, or service providers change.

The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.

A note on legal review

These Terms are designed to reflect the current Unordinary Life MVP and its actual features. As the platform grows, introduces paid services, creates a formal operating entity, or expands significantly across jurisdictions, the Terms should be reviewed and updated accordingly.
