01 · Tell a genuine story

This is a storytelling platform, not a performance platform.

Share experiences, memories, relationships, mistakes, grief, change, hope, fear, failure, success, identity, family, work, or things you have never found the right place to say.

Your story does not need to be dramatic, polished, or beautifully written. It should, however, be presented as a sincere personal account rather than as spam, manipulation, or deliberately misleading content.

02 · Protect privacy

Anonymity does not remove responsibility.

Avoid publishing phone numbers, private addresses, personal email addresses, passwords, financial details, private account information, or other information that could expose someone unnecessarily.

If another person is part of your story, consider whether their full name, exact workplace, school, location, or other highly specific details are genuinely necessary.

Even when you publish as Anonymous, combinations of details inside the story may reveal who you or someone else are.

03 · Sexual content

Personal experiences may involve sex. Fetish content does not belong here.

People may write honestly about relationships, intimacy, sexuality, abuse, identity, consent, difficult experiences, or other parts of life where sexual details are genuinely relevant to the story.

Content written primarily for sexual gratification, pornography, explicit sexual fantasy, fetish material, sexual solicitation, or attempts to turn the platform into a venue for sexual interaction may be removed.

04 · No harassment or hate

Tell your experience without turning the platform into a weapon.

Do not use Unordinary Life to threaten, harass, intimidate, stalk, humiliate, coordinate abuse against, or deliberately endanger another person.

Hateful attacks or dehumanizing content directed at people or groups based on protected characteristics are not permitted.

05 · No doxxing

Do not expose private identifying information to punish or endanger someone.

Publishing someone's private address, phone number, personal contact information, financial information, or similarly sensitive identifying information in a way that creates a meaningful risk of harm is not allowed.

06 · No scams, spam, or deceptive promotion

Stories should not be disguised advertisements or fraud.

Spam, fraudulent schemes, phishing, deceptive links, impersonation, manipulation for money, unrelated promotion, or attempts to drive readers toward scams may be removed.

07 · Threats and dangerous conduct

Describing harm is different from encouraging it.

Stories may discuss violence, abuse, trauma, crime, addiction, or other painful experiences.

Credible threats, targeted intimidation, encouragement of serious violence, or content intended to facilitate serious harm may be removed and may require further action where appropriate.

08 · Sensitive experiences

Difficult subject matter is not automatically inappropriate.

A platform for real life stories will sometimes contain painful, uncomfortable, emotionally difficult, or deeply personal material.

We consider context, purpose, and presentation. A sincere account of trauma, grief, abuse, sexuality, addiction, violence, illness, or another difficult subject is different from content created mainly to exploit, shock, threaten, harass, or sexually gratify.

09 · Impersonation and deception

Do not deliberately pretend to be someone else in order to deceive people.

Pseudonyms are allowed. Anonymous publishing is allowed. But using another real person's identity in a way intended to mislead, defraud, harass, or damage them is not.

10 · Illegal or rights-violating content

Do not use the platform to violate the law or other people's rights.

Content may be restricted or removed where it unlawfully infringes privacy, intellectual-property, confidentiality, or other legal rights, or where applicable law requires action.

11 · Reporting

If something does not belong here, report it.

Published stories include a reporting option. You can select a reason and optionally explain what you think should be reviewed.

Reports are intended to be private and are reviewed through the moderation system.

A report does not automatically remove a story and does not guarantee a particular outcome.

12 · Moderation decisions

We review context before deciding what to do.

Depending on the circumstances, we may dismiss a report, restrict a story's visibility, place it on moderation hold, remove content, preserve relevant information, restrict account functionality, or take another reasonable action.

Moderation decisions may consider context, safety, privacy, repeated misuse, platform integrity, legal requirements, and the purpose of Unordinary Life.

13 · Moderation hold

Some stories may be temporarily removed from public view.

If a story requires moderation action, it may be placed on moderation hold.

During a moderation hold, the story may remain visible to the author inside their account while being unavailable to the public. Editing, deletion, or republication may also be temporarily restricted.

14 · Repeat misuse

Repeated serious violations may lead to stronger restrictions.

Accounts that repeatedly or seriously misuse the service may face restrictions or loss of access where reasonably necessary.

15 · False or abusive reporting

The reporting system should not become another form of harassment.

Repeated knowingly false, malicious, or abusive reports may themselves be treated as misuse of the platform.

16 · Authors remain responsible

Anonymous publishing is not immunity from consequences.

Choosing Anonymous changes what readers see. It does not excuse illegal conduct, harassment, threats, fraud, privacy violations, or other misuse.

17 · Changes to these guidelines

The guidelines may evolve as the community grows.

New patterns of misuse or new product features may require these guidelines to change over time.

Material revisions will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
